Serenity

Inspired by nature, this album features inspirational compositions and a unique blending of sounds from five harps from southern and northern hemispheres.

The songs on this recording were inspired by the elements in nature as a summer breeze, constellations in the night sky, sunsets, passing storms, and hills covered with flowers in the late summer. This album also includes songs inspired by a desire for love and peace. The song Yvette's wedding was composed for the wedding of Nicolas' sister and song such as dancing angels and peace song express Nicolas desire for peace and serenity.

Nicolas had many of these songs in his head and during a two week cabin retreat at Blacklock Nature Center in northern Minnesota, Nicolas devoted himself to uninterrupted exploration of harp music and on refining these compositions. He combined the sounds of five finely-crafted harps, including Paraguayan harps, a Limerick harp and a Regency harp which were crafted by harp-makers Oscar Maldonado (Asuncion, Paraguay), Music Makers (Stillwater, MN) and David Kortier (Duluth, MN).
